EDUCATION
Coronado Unified School District is in charge of Coronado’s schools. It consists of two high schools, one middle school, and two primary schools, as well as a number of specialized schools. It is administered by a five-member board of directors who are all elected by the public. It is a highly regarded public school system in Coronado, California. It has 3,063 K-12 students with a student-teacher ratio of 23 to 1. According to state test results, 68% of children are proficient in arithmetic and 78% are proficient in reading. Coronado is close to Point Loma Nazarene University, Southern Illinois University, San Diego City College, Concorde Career College-San Diego, and California College San Diego – National City Campus.
